Experience brings some improvements. After losing so many pencils while surveying (and losing so much time looking for the green pencil in the grass, and the brown pencil in the forest) Marcello Pradel tells me he fixes the pencil on a rope, good idea!. While setting a course for Swedish orienteers in S.Marino, I notice Daniele Guardini white and small netbook. After a while a netbook is introduced in my gear, replacing the heavy laptop. 10" screen is not very big to draw at home, but still enough. Handheld GPS is replaced with a better model suggested by Paolo Sbrizzi (Garmin Gpsmap 60) with a USB connection (and one driver less to be installed). USB connection is not Ocad compliant so I need to use EasyGPS shareware to import GPS data). The biggest change is about the scanner. While working in the UK (without personal scanner, no good to be carried on a plane) I find out those mini scanner where the sheet passes through: from now on I can bring the scanner everywhere I go. With its internal battery I find myself scanning in the most strange places, on the floor in a London hostel or an Italian regional train. |
